Home!

So I may have cried like a baby when the Canadian border officer said “welcome home” and then even harder when we pulled into the camp and my family was waiting for us…

We are all happy to be home. Praise the Lord for safe travels and health. We are so lucky to have had this trip together to see all these amazing things. We are so lucky that we have family, friends and coworkers that held our lives together while we were gone. We are so grateful my cousin loved in (that was first a spelling mistake for “lived in” but I would like to keep it “loved” because she showed our home and animals so much love and care) our house while we were away.

Joel – you are the only person in the world I would drive those roads with. You keep us safe and make me feel cared for. Thank you to saying yes to every one of my great ideas for this trip even after I decided it was a crazy idea while we were waist deep in it. I’m looking forward to our next adventure.

Caleb – You move like a like a Desert Big Horn Sheep. Thank you for listening to me most of the time and keeping safe on the cliff ledges. Your stamina surpasses us all – you could hike all day everyday without being winded – but never complained about having to pause and wait for us to “take in the beauty”. Your ability to take everything in and remember facts to explain to others is remarkable.

Isla – I hope you never lose your love of all people – you made friends with every soul you met no matter how others may view them through a stereotypical lens. You are so relaxed and happy to tackle any adventure and push past any obstacle (no matter the drop). Your giggles are ridiculous and beautiful.

Grateful to have such a beautiful life to return home to
