We missed the sunrise because we were busy watching the Elk in our campsite. We hiked the Bright Angel trail to the 1.5 mile rest stop. The trail was nice and wide with no “iffy” parts at all. When hiking down we would hit patches of warm and then patches of cold as we worked around the canyon. Coming up was a lot slower than coming down. It was funny leaping frogging hikers over and over again as you stopped to catch your breath. There is really no way for our eyes to understand what we are looking at when looking into the Grand Canyon. It is 1 mile deep and 10 miles across where we are. It definitely wasn’t the hardest hike we’ve been on but possibly the one our bodies are going to feel more tomorrow because of using different muscles.
Isla: it was a lot of fun. It was really cool. I was really happy to see red rocks again.
Caleb: It was fun. I liked seeing the layers of rock as we climbed down them.
Joel: I liked walking through the tunnels. I liked leaping frogging other people.

There is a lot of people at the Grand Canyon. Much like other parks, once you get a little ways from the Visitor Center there gets to be less people. Grand Canyon village along the rim is just so big… so many hotels and stores.
