Friday October 6: Leaving Kings Canyon and heading toward the Grand Canyon

Joel works again today so the kids and I spent the morning seeing the sights in Kings Canyon that we hadn’t gotten to yet. We went to see General Grant tree and hiked around that grove.

There was a fallen monarch we walked through.
The third largest tree in the world by volume.
Isla liked the leaves turning pink…we miss the fall colours of home

I wish we had more time in Sequioa National Park…I would have been happy as can be to have brought a book and sat with the giant sequoias on a long trail and spend the day. The kids did not think that was the best idea and time just didn’t allow. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the narrow, winding roads up the Sierra’s. It’s pretty cold here too because we are so high. It is nice to see the snow in the mountains.
