Zion National Park: Thursday September 21

The drive from Bryce Canyon to Zion through Mount Carmel was good. Everyone warned us about the roads around here but after the scenic highway 12 from Moab to Bryce Canyon it was nothing! Zion is by far the busiest park we have been at. We are staying at Zion Canyon Campground in Springdale.

We walked to the Zion National Park Visitors Center and jumped on a shuttle bus (you aren’t allowed to drive within the park) to the Temple of Sinawava. From there we hiked along the Riverside walk to the Narrows. It was an in and out hike through the Virgin River. We didn’t do the whole 15 km but did 10km instead. It was a cool experience but was a little too chilly for Caleb so we turned back before reaching the end. The water ranged in height from just a couple inches to my chest. Joel carried Isla on his shoulders for the deepest parts.
