After we got settled in to our campground, Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway, we went to the Arches Visitors Center. We got our permit and had to watch a preparation video and pass some questions to be allowed to partake in the Fiery Furnace hike we booked. At the visitors Center the kids also got a Junior Ranger booklet to learn more about the park and earn a badge.
The road into the park was big switch backs and I was thankful to not be pulling the trailer. We went to the Windows to hike in and watch the sunset. Sunset is a magical time where the rocks glow. Once the sun goes down it’s like someone stopped the movie and said show is over.
