In our truck it it a it has an exhaust brake it slows the truck down when it’s going down a steep descent. It takes the exhaust from the truck and pressurize it then spins a turbine that spins against the drive shaft to slow the vehicle down. This truck handles the trailer down the big hills. If you were depending on your breaks they could over heat and force you to use a run away ramp.
